Frequently Asked Questions
If you do not see the answer to your question below, please don't hesitate to contact me directly to learn more.
-
What age group(s) do you work with?I work with all adult-aged clients (ages 18+).
-
Do you offer in-person and telehealth appointments?I currently only offer telehealth appointments via a HIPAA-compliant online meeting platform.
-
Do you accept insurance?I am a self-pay and out-of-network provider, and payment is due at the end of each session. Clients are responsible for and encouraged to verify with their insurance provider whether they will receive reimbursement for services. Insurance providers may offer reimbursement for a majority or some of the out of pocket session costs. If applicable, I will provide you with a coded bill "superbill" to submit to your provider for out-of-network reimbursement. The provider will then send the client their reimbursement directly. I understand this process can be confusing, so please don't hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns! Some helpful questions to ask when speaking with your insurance provider include: Do I have out-of-network coverage for psychotherapy services? What percentage of each session is covered? Is there a limit to how many sessions per year? Do I have an out-of-network deductible? How do I submit super-bills / claims? How do I receive reimbursement (i.e. direct deposit, check, etc.)? How long does it take to receive reimbursement?
-
What are your session fees? How does payment work?My session fee is $250 for a 50 minute therapy session. A credit or debit card must be kept on file, and fees are collected at the end of each session, unless alternate arrangements have been made. Should a financial concern arise before or during treatment, I encourage clients to share it with me so that we can work on a solution, such as a sliding scale.
-
What is your cancellation policy?I require clients to please cancel or reschedule 24 hours in advance via phone or email. In the event that a client fails to cancel at least 24 hours in advance, the card on file may be charged for the entire session fee. Please know that I will always take emergencies and extenuating circumstances into consideration.
-
How frequent are therapy sessions?Generally, I will recommend beginning the therapeutic process with weekly sessions that are each 50 minutes in length. However, frequency may vary depending on the client's unique needs and goals, all determined collaboratively through our work together.
-
Do you prescribe psychiatric medications? No. I can provide referrals at any time and/or collaborate with a client's current psychiatric provider during treatment.
